There are so many places in the world that I have not been too but the ones I have been to in the United States were a learning experience with three children. Now I'm looking at places to relax and retreat to get away from the hussle and bussle world. There is a place just north of here that is just that a retreat like no other.

The White Lace Inn Bed & Breakfast has plenty of turn of the century charm. The main house is from the Victorian Era and the main room is great for tea, listening to music and enjoying a gourmet breakfast. Staying in one of the many guest houses that all have walking paths to the main house. In the center is the beautiful English garden with ponds, gazebo and chairs to take in the sounds of nature. The guest houses were relaxing and some even had the view of the beautiful gardens. If you are looking for a place to stay you will find the atmosphere of the bed & breakfast is nothing but relaxing and even secluded for those more intimate moments.

The Door County Lighthouse Inn is located in downtown Egg Harbor. Look at the sunsets from the harbor or stroll along the lake shore. The Inn serves a full breakfast and the rooms have all the up to date amenities. Packages are available for those romantic weekends or any special occasion. Visit the bluffs and the many parks along the western part of the peninsula. There are three lighthouses and Green Bay is just across the bay.

There are several excellent resorts, cottages and cabins that are nice for lodging accommodations. Since my children are young adults I enjoy the quaint country style inns because they treat their guest like royalty. The Church Hill Inn, The Ephraim Inn, and the Black Smith Inn all seemed like the country style simplicity and relaxing was just there compared to the other resorts.
